13,000 lb. Field Farm stock class 2008 Rules
1. Tractor must be manufactured stock model two wheel drive, rubber bar type
tires. No cut or altered tires of any type. Cast wheels with any size tire
allowed. The only exception is if manufacture did not offer cast wheels. Fenders
are required on all tractors as provided by manufacturer. PTOs are optional, if
equipped it must be shielded. Must have stock appearing fuel system . Turbo must
be stock for model of tractor. M&W or equivalent may be installed. 3000 RPM
limit max, will be checked at front of crankshaft no exceptions.
2. All weights must be safely secured to the tractor and must
not exceed rearward beyond the rear tires. No weights inside cab. Three point
hitch components may be removed to make class but no additional weights can be
added (front weights). Any ballast or external parts lost while hooked to the
sled will be cause for disqualification. Tractors may be weighed after the pull
as requested by the judges.
3. While hooking, the tractor must be in neutral with the drivers hands up and
foot off clutch.
4. Maximum drawbar height is 20 from ground to top of drawbar that is rigid in
every direction. The hole must be a minimum of 24 behind center of rear axle
and at least 3.5 in diameter with at least 6 clearance above the hole.
Cross-sectional thickness must be 7/8 minimum. Pulling point may not be more
than 1 from back of hitching device. Twisted clevis must straddle drawbar. No
vertical hitches allowed.
5. Farm stock tractors are limited to a 5 mph speed for all classes , controlled
by pace rope system
6. After the first pull, the first puller may choose first or third position,
unless disqualified, or if class restarts. Pulling position is determined by
draw.
7. Only one pull is allowed unless a tie is declared or the tractor reaches the
end boundary. No digging. Stop for flag man or be disqualified. During a
pull-off, a disqualification will earn puller last position in pull-off only.
The judges will allow a 2nd attempt within 75 feet of the starting line for
adjustments. Driver must remain seated and in full control of tractor.
8. The contest is governed by judges made up of Board of Directors of the MFSTPA,
with all decision final. Judges have the right to accept, reject or disqualify
tractor before, after weighing or during contest if it is being operated
unsafely or rules are not being followed.
9. The contestant must be at least 16 years of age, with parent or guardians
signature for the contest, if he or she is a minor or has 4-H certificate.
Participates shall not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
10. The contestant will not hold the committee or individuals connected with
contest responsible for damage, injury, or theft.
11. All straight pipes must be vertical (no curves) and a minimum of 18 above
the hood outlet. Two 3/8 cross bolts are strongly recommended.
